For my magazine genre I got given the R&B genre, In general women on R&B magazines front covers are often protrayed as either really sexy or wholesome and role models for younger girls. The representation of women in the media is often protrayed as derogatory because of video girls.

The Ciara edition of 'Rap Up' shows the target audience a musican who is sexy and confident hence the way she is dressed. The coverlines in relationship to her curves is a prominant feature of the front cover.,One generic conventions of Rap-Up music magazines, is that it’s masthead has the same font and colour on each issue (large, easy to read font, bold and black) and it’s always situated in the middle.
The central figure/s help to maintain a stereotype, as well as customer loyalty. They are always current and popular groups that fitthe music genre of Rap-Up (R&B/Hip-Hop)
