Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

It is obvious that I have learnt a lot since my preliminary task by looking at my college magazine and my music magazine. The college magazine is basic with a white background, same fonts and a bland color scheme. However my music magazine has an image that fills the whole cover and a variety of different fonts and text sizes, as well as different colors and magazine traits. This is down to the skills I have learnt in Photoshop and InDesign this term.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

ØWhen starting AS Media I had a very limited knowledge with the program Photoshop and I  had never I worked on producing a magazine before. I have learnt it takes a great deal of time and effort to put a magazine together.
ØI have learnt that with InDesign you can create many different layouts for your magazine. Indesign has probably helped me the most because without it I would not be able to of created my magazine. InDesign is what publishers use as it easier for mass production
ØI have found Photoshop very useful when editing my photos. I've learnt that using Photoshop doesn’t mean you have to change your images but you can render them and a  lens flare to make the image stand out.

How did you attract/address your audience?

ØI will attract my audience visually by using bright colours, attractive pictures and bold lettering throughout the magazine.
ØI will also  try to make sure that colours are consistent throughout my magazine.
ØOn my front cover I will have a strong, eye catching picture of my model.
ØOn the contents page I will keep the writing as simple as I can and use various pictures to keep my audience’s interest.
ØOn my feature page I will include a large picture and not too much writing so I can interest the reader as best as I can.
ØAfter doing all this, I am sure that my target audience will be attracted to this magazine and it will appeal to them

Who would be the audience for your media product?

ØMy new music magazine will be aimed at both male and females aged 16 – 25 who enjoy popular R&B music.
Ø Young people who enjoy reading features on upcoming and fresh talent in the music industry

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

ØAs I am using Vibe magazine for inspiration I  have looked into what media institution publishes them, InterMedia Partners.
ØAs my magazine will have many similar conventions of Vibe magazine
ØI am pretty confident that InterMedia Partners will be interested in distributing my magazine.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

ØI plan that my magazine will represent young  people aged 17 – 25.
ØI want the representations in my magazine to be positive unlike many representations of young  people in media today especially in London.
ØMy magazine will represent a typical  celebrity magazine as being strong, independent, sexy and confident. I will portray this view  appropriate photographs and feature stories and quotations throughout my magazine.
